East Carolina University’s School of Art and Design hosted visiting photographer Kally Malcom on October 3. Malcom, an Assistant Professor of Photography at the University of North Florida, is a photographer whose work explores place, history and identity. Her images use a range of photographic methods that move between the studio and the natural world.
She presented a public lecture that included work from her latest series, Pictograph and Native Sun: The Flora of Sawmill Slough Preserve. She hosted a workshop on advanced and creative studio lighting techniques for photography students and provided one-on-one portfolio reviews.
Malcom was hosted by the Photography Guild, with funding support from the Visual Arts Forum.
