East Carolina University will feature performances of the nationally-touring musical Pete the Cat on Friday, October 5.
Jimmy Biddle has a new addition to his family, a groovy new friend: Pete the Cat. When Jimmy goes through some trouble in school, Pete is there to inspire him. The friends adventure together to Paris in the back of a Volkswagen bus.
The performance opens the 2018-2019 Arts Smart and Family Fare series. Founded in 1991, Arts Smart is a daytime bus-in program that serves Kindergarten through fifth grade students. Family Fare is offered in the early evening for families with young children.
“Many children have never attended live professional theatre before, let alone been on a college campus,” said Michael Crane, Producing Artistic Director for the series. “Hosting them at Arts Smart performances is powerful inspiration.”
Both series present six titles annually. For more information, visit www.ecu.edu/artssmartand www.ecu.edu/familyfare.
